Your idle mixture screws are hidden under metal plugs. The carbs have to be removed to get to them using a small drill bit and perhaps a screw to grab and remove them. If the mod was doen for you, they should have revealed the screws. They are underneath each carb, near the boot closest to the engine. Short flat blade screwdriver.
opening the screws will help the popping. Increasing your pilot jet wil help even more. I think the Gen II gang uses a 17.5 pilot for best results. Mine has popped like an explosive with 32.5 pilots (genI) and is best with a 35 out 3 turns.
