Question about front end dimensions
« on: November 28, 2005, 06:55:08 PM »
Could one of you B6 guys help out a 400cc brother with a couple of measurements?
I want to upgrade to a double disc front end and I'm thinking 600 forks are what I need. Both bikes have 41mm fork tubes, but there are two or three other measurements I need to know:

1. Fork spacing. The distance from centre to centre of the fork tubes, or the distance between the tubes, or from outside to outside, anything at all. Measure what is easiest for you, and I will do the math.

2. Fork length. With the bike on the centre stand, the distance from the top of the fork tube, to, say the centre of the axle, or the bottom of the fork, or whatever you like.

3. The distance, centre to centre of the mounting bolts for the front brake calipers, or, does anyone know what other bikes have calipers that are compatible with these?
Thanks to anyone who can spare a few minutes to check this out for me.

Regards,
Steve
