i have a b6 that i regeared. i would like to know how it affectes the spedo befor i do it. i and going to go one down in the front and two up in the back. thanks :motorsmile:

It shouldn't screw up your speedo. The first generation b6/12 speedo drives off the front wheel. The newer ones drive electronically (?) from somewhere else. (Is that vaque enough?) :wink:

Not "shouldn't" - it won't! The only thing that will change your speedo on a 1G is changing the size of the front tire.
The 2G speedo gets its signal from a sensor on the countershaft sprocket. Gearing changes will effect the speedo on a 2G.

If you change out the front sprocket with an aftermarket on the 2G bandit will you still get a speedo reading or do you have to have the stock front sprocket for the sensor to work. I stuck with the same tooth count up front but just got lighter front sprocket!

You still get a reading since the sensor is on the shaft, not the sprocket. It'll just be a different reading than stock if you alter the tooth count (gearing) at either end.
