Title: Smooth bore Carbs
Post by: b12_suzuki on December 31, 2005, 03:01:01 AM
I have a 2004 B12. I was wondering if anyone had replaced the stock carbs with a set of Mikuni Smooth bores or Flat Slide Carbs? How was the performance after the switch and did it cure the cold bloodiness of the bike.

Thanks for the input

BHolland uses RS38's with extensive engine mods.

I plan to go with RS36's and .360 lift cams (stock displacement) in the near future.

Good HP can be made with the stock carbs, but I feel the RS flatslides will really wake up the motor.

I think they're fine if you plan on going for more mods (cams, head work, higher compresion and/or bigger bore). But for something as simple as curing cold-bloodedness and/or a slip-on or header, a jet kit will be fine.
