Can't offer too much help for your question - BUT, I would think a good mechanic would fix their mistake themselves; not tell the customer what happened and have them try and figure it out. He lost the spacer, he should replace it. And he ought to know or research himself as a professional as to whether or not that spacer fits.

I'm trying to picture what spacer he means, you would have to be more specific, or he will rather, and yes I agree that if he makes a mistake he should fix it.
Heres the fiche http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/2/Make/Suzuki/YearID/45/Year/2004/ModelID/6425/Model/GSF1200S_BANDIT/GroupID/267047/Group/CARBURETOR
have him point out what part it is.
