Took the B12 for a 15 mile romp to warm up the chain before lubing. While plodding thru the lube process noticed that the swingarm was as warm to the touch as the chain. WTF?

I've never really checked mine, but I wouldn't be surprised at "warm" because aluminum is a good conductor of heat - which is why it is a popular choice for engine blocks, heads, radiators, intercoolers, etc. It will pick up heat from warm parts it touches or parts that are nearly, like the exhaust. Also, if it is a hot day, it will heat up faster and warmer than steel.

I had the same thought re: the exhaust midpipe, but just surprised me at the temp. Wierd.
Thanks.
