Title: Unique Leak I've Never Seen Before
Post by: bandit1987 on July 22, 2011, 03:40:00 PM
Hi all,
I'm hoping I can get some insight into the problem I have with my 2001 Bandit 1200(K). I am having an oil leak from the inside card to head connection on the right side (the gasket connecting the carb to the engine.) Doesn't seem to leak too bad under low RPM's but always leaks when I park it after a ride. I just did a carb rebuild and I am sure it is not gas leaking out. If anyone could help me out it would be great! Thanks in advance!

There shouldn't be anything around there that leaks oil unless you've got a bad gasket (perhaps cam chain tensioner - between #2 & #3, or the valve cover or the head gasket) or a crack (less likely).
