found out how cold blooded these are and tried 1/2-3/4 choke at start up....once the motor warms a bit i cut the choke off....i start the bike this way everyday....no problems....
hope this helps.
Being that Bandit's are not fuel injected you'll have to start it with the choke all the time. What I do, and it works everytime is full choke, 2-3 full throttles cranks, hit teh start button....VROOM! No worries!
The motor will tell you when it's ready to ride. If it's really cold out leave it at full choke until the motor speeds up, then bring back the choke in stages. (turn off until the motor slows down - wait for it to warm and speed up again). Once you're near 1/4 choke you should be ready to roll.
Obviously on colder days (0-15C or 32-70F) once you start riding it will still take a mile or 2 to properly warm up so don't crank it right away.
If the engine isn't ready when you start you'll know it. Mine plays mind games when I make a full stop and teh 1st stop sign....it simply dies. (lack of fuel from being too cold)
Give it a shot and see how it goes.
