I looked on my carbs and don't see any kind of model designation or anything WTF??

I have a 99 1200 and I jetted my bike down to 112.5 mains from 127.  It's a long story why I did that, but when I went to the dealership where I bought my bike to get the jets, they let me rummage through some tupperware with Mikuni written on it(they owed me some restitution).  I just picked out the 112.5's.  I must have sifted through a hundred jets before I found 4 of the same size.  Some were slightly different in their head size but all of the jets had the same thread size.  The mechanic told me that any one of those jets in that pile would fit.

I have a set of 132.5 that you can have for free.  This is what I ran with two 2" holes in the airbox.  It dynoed at 115.4 with these jets.  I have long since jumped to stage 2, so if you wan't them their yours.  They were on my '99 B12, so should fit yours as well.

For the Mikuni BST36SS carbs on the 1G, the part numbers for the mains are N100.604 (+size, from 50-200 in increments of 2.5)

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!  :?:

The jets chevsuz sent me don't fit. are the jets on a 99 different than a 97?

They are lik.5mm to large in diameter. won't screw into the emulsion tubes.

BTW thanks Blain. check your messages.

Sorry about the jets, they should fit!  As they were originally on my 1997 B12, when I bought the '99 I simply swapped them for the stock ones.

Alright all you experts, does anybody know what's going on here? The jets I bought won't fit, the jets chevsuz sent me (which he had in his 97B12) don't fit. I was told my bike had a jet kit installed by the previous owner(don't know which brand) is it possible the emulsion tubes are different than stock??  this is really getting frustrating, if I can't get the right jets I'm gonna have to be forced to ride my bike with out a hole in the airbox    .

I haven't heard of that happening - but it may be possible.

Is it possible the stock carbs aren't on it anymore?

I guess anything is possible, but they look stock. they are mikunis.  the jets I took out are about .5mm smaller than the ones I got from chevsuz, and the local shoip I ordered them from. The old jets screw right in and the new ones go 1/2 turn and lock up.

damn i was hoping you'd have an answer red.

Very bizarre, does anyone know what the standard pilots are for the 1G "holeshot" mod? Maybe if someone gave you what the pilot size is you could go directly to a shop with the carb and try every 127.5 and 35 or whatever you need untill you have 4 that are the same and screw in. Is there some sort of chart that shows what you get with the jet kits from holeshot or ivan's? You could use that as a reference and work from there.

I found something interest on fast Larry's site which may interest you

Quote
Pilot/Main Part Numbers
Mikuni Pilots: BS30/96-XX where XX is the size you need (ex: BS30/96-35)
VERY IMPORTANT: Some pilots have crossdrilled holes in them. Pilots with no crossdrilling or 6 holes are okay. Do NOT use pilots with 8 crossdrilled holes in them!

Could it be that the guy before you used these "crossdrilled" jets and screwed up the threads? Or maybe you have these "crossdrilled" jets and that 's the reason you can screw them in? Weird.

Nope my pilot jets have no crossdrilling in them. The mains are just too large to screw into the emulsion tubes.

That's pretty bizarre!
Sounds silly, but are you certain you are screwing them into the right port?  I can't imagine what the issue could be unless you have some completely different set of carbs.  Even then I was under the impression that  main jets were pretty much universal in terms of their external dimensions.

I'll be ordering a jet kit from either Holeshot or Ivan's within a month or so if I get the kit and you still haven't resolved it I'll try and take a picture of the jets for reference. However I'll be ordering the 2G kit, the jets may not be the same size but they are probably the same type. Maybe if someone has their old jets left from their upgrade they can take a picture or send you one to try out.

I know this may sound crazy but is it possible that the person who owned it before you "fooled" around with the carbs possibly stripping the emulsion tubes and had them retapped or new tubes put in. I know it sounds crazy but I guess anything is possible. Do you have a motorcycle wreckers near your place? Maybe you could take the carbs in and try to get ANY jets to screw in properly that may give you an idea of what's going on. For example if you get some jets from a 83 CB750 that screw in you can say ok jets from carb XXX will work and maybe go from there. If you could order the right size jets for you from carb XXX and they screw in properly you're set.

Sorry I guess this doens't help but it's the first time I've heard of this problem.

I also found this on FastLarry's site:

The carbs must be removed to install the new emulsion tubes in the dynojet kit;

Is it possbile there was a dynojet kit in there and the emulsion tubes have been changed?
