Title: what size helicoil kit to repair stripped oil pan plug on 05 650 bandit?

Hi there,
Like the title says, what size helicoil kit should I use to repair a stripped oil pan drain plug?
I think it is the 14 x 1.25 spark plug kit that helicoil sells but I would like to be sure before I buy the kit?

Helicoils come in all sorts of metric sizes....not just for spark plugs. Check their website or get a pamphlet from the dealer. Their pamphlet lists ALL sizes available.
Can't help with the drain plug size, though. I've never thought to measure mine and the FSM doesn't list the size or thread pitch at all. Sorry....
Someone on here MUST have an engine apart or at least have the pan off cleaning up all the grunge. A nice job for lousy winter evenings.... :wink:
