D&D exhuast installed on 2001 GSF600S

I bought my D&D slip on with mid pipe off ebay from JC Motorcycle Exhausts. Cost 217$, everything included, called them first about jetting and mid pipe, spoke to Phil, VERY helpful.

Received pipe in about 3 days, almost crapped myself! Nice service, well wrapped, looking good.

Installed in 15 minutes using permatex copper high heat silicone for good seal. No leaks, sounds great, seat of pants says more power in middle and top end, nice.

How loud? Loud, but no louder than friends sportsbikes with cans.

I think its a good pipe for a budget bike. I didnt want to spend 1000$ on a full system for an under 4K$ bike. Ive got a buddy with D&D on katana, been riding no problems for several years.

Take a look, sorry for bad photos, hastily taken in dark junky garage.

PS  D&D says no rejet needed with exhaust alone.
My bike doesnt pop on decel more than stock, no flat spots after the standard eternity to warm up, no hesitation just hauling tail!

Looks sweet!

And you're not the first to show off his new pipe in a dirty dingy garage...  http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y156/PaulVS/suzuki.jpg

And cold starts will get easier.

I don't know how these pipe guys can say a rejet isn't needed, especially on something like the B6 which needs to be rejetted with the stock can.

I agree with RED01. These bike are pretty lean as it is out of the factory. I had to demand that the dealer drill out the mixture plugs just so I could ride it normally. While my bike may be an extreme example. I would at least as a minimum shim the needles 1 .020 shim, it can't hurt and I'm sure you're nice Mid to TOP will get even better. Drilling out the mixture screws and turning em out a touch makes the bike even better. If you don't want to re-jet you don't have to, but you'd be suprised what a simple shim and mixture screw adjust does for the bike. Look at my sig. I did the bare minimum by leaving in the snorkle but shimming 1 .020 shim and turning out the mixture screws 1/4 turn out from stock and it's a whole new bike. When I get an Ivan's kit it will get even better. Even with the minor amount of work I did, I probably gained at least 5 hp over stock which you can feel. Shimming only took about 45 minutes max because I was being super carefull not to lose the "O-ring of death" that are on the B12 carbs.  The beauty of the 600 is your carbs are even easier to shim. I may have some shims around I can send you for free if you like or you can go to Radio Shack and pick up the shim pack yourself.
2005 Bandit 1200, Modified Holeshot Stage 1 with 17.5 pilots 2.75 turns out, and 110 mains 5 shims. Muzzy Slip on w/mid-pipe, stock filter. 1.5" hole in the airbox lid.

I'm not sure what your stock jetting is but on my 96 B6 it was #99 on 1&4 and #100 on 2&3. I put #100's on 1&4 , ordered them for under $10 each. Shim and tune the air fuel screws. Cheap but all I needed. I do have a K&N and a VH advance, I'm not sure you'll need either.

D&D insisted the mid pipe with slip on system they sold me needs no rejetting, as long as no other modifications have been made..., i.e. air box mods, filter changes etc.

I guess its a case by case basis, but my bike runs perfect! No flat spots just haulin a**!
Just a hint of rumble on decel, nothing that would bother anyone, not popping, just purring, nice, very nice.

Ill have to run some miles before pulling a plug to show you (my bike is just a weekend playtoy and Ive got some out of town stuff coming up, wont be riding much), I would guess its lean as ever (stock) but I dont expect its dangerously lean, its running too good.

PS check the scorpion website, they said they are trying to make all pipes dyno perfect with no rejetting.
