Actually it will depend on your size @ least for me I went with the givi and then now using the zero gravity touring wind shield.  I am 5'10' and works ok but would like it about 2" taller.
If you dont have any issues with your wind screen now you may not need to change its just the wind really created a lot of buffeting for me.
I read where some like the vario or lamar lip for better wind protection ... Good luck in your search

I have the same problem with my 1255. I fixed it on my '99 1200S by ditching the "S" fairing and its "potato chip" windscreen and installing a round Headlight from an old Suzuki and a really big Plexifairing windshield (J.C. Whitney still carries something a lot like it).

After a preliminary look, I can't see how to easily remove the fairing on the 1255 without losing the instruments too. If anyone has done a conversion like this on the 1255, please let me know what problems you ran into, if any.

Thanks!

Herb

I've tried both a screen the same size as the standard one with a bit of a flip and an mra screen with the adjustable spoiler, although it's pricey, the mra one is defo the way to go. Hope this helps.

Check out Robo Bracket's system.  It is adjustable in height and angle to get "just right"
