Wondering if anyone else is experiencing a clutch rattle from there 1250? I am a long time GSX1100 (GS1100 16 valve for the 'mericans) owner so I know a clutch rattle when I hear one, it occurs most noticeably in neutral with the clutch lever out. Dealer told me to see if it settles at all, bike now has 3000kms on it and no difference.

I don't think I have ever heard "clutch rattle" on mine but I may just not know the noise. When in neutral and clutch is released I hear nothing.

Mine has a noticable rattle when it is in neutral and the clutch is not pulled in. It quiets right down once you pull the clutch in, I really haven't thought much about it though. It hasn't bothered me enough to take it back to the dealer yet.

Mine rattles too in neutral but I figure its just a quirk of the bike.
you wouldn't happen to post on the GSR would you?
-
Yes, I now notice it.....thanks alot for pointing it out lol. :stickpoke:
From the other responses, it must be normal???
-
It's the clutch basket rattling around loose while you have the clutch cable released and in neutral. It's normal :thumb:

Pulling in on the clutch puts just enough drag on the clutch to stop the gears rattling in torsional vibration mode. It isn't a problem... with the engine as quiet as it is, I'm surprised the clicking of the solenoids aren't bugging you. They bug me.

My new 1250SA developed a noise (or rattle, if you will) after about 500km.
Dealer heard it today and is investigating during the 1000km service.
Excuses will probably come along tomorrow.
Did your situation sort itself out?

Issue is still there, it appears to be as stated in this thread, fitted a Micron pipe; it helped couldn't hear so well over the better sound of the exhaust but it is still there, hasn't got any better or any worse. It is like the "burring" noise the front brakes make when applied, one of those noises a Bandit 1250 makes.

Official dealer statement. (WRT Clutch Noise...)
It may have been the oil, we have changed it now, see how it goes and let us know. We will tell Suzuki about it and see what they say.
They did, however, agree that it was not normal and that they don't know why it started doing it.
They also did not open the clutch to have a look.
We will see...
