Delkevic headers for 1250 Bandit

I recently bought a Delkevic slip on and I really like it.... not just for the money, it's of good quality and sounds great (baffle removed).  I would like to improve the breathing more, but I don't want to mess with the factory header, or gut the cat. I would like to keep the factory pipe "factory" just incase they crack down on the emissions thing. The factory header is a pipe inside a pipe set up and is super restrictive. I have only found a couple of companies that make headers for the 1250 Bandit (please let me know if you know of others). One is Arrow, not the best looking IMO, and the other is Holeshot's...very nice, excellent finish, but pricey. I contacted Delkevic and they said that they had plans for one "on the back burner". I think they might speed up the availability if there were more of a demand. If anyone else is interested, fire them off an e-mail and tell them.... couldn't hurt.

I thought Hindle made a full system for the Bandit 1250...but after searching their site, they have the Headers for the Bandit 600/650/1200 SACS engines and the water cooled 650, but NOT the 1250...funny, I would have thought these was a lot more call for a full exhaust on the 4th gen 1250 vs. the 650?

I just got an e-mail back from Delkevic, and now they are saying 6 more months. He did suggest the pricing should be similar to the 1200 Bandit, which is $220.00 USD.

I just got this e-mail from Luke at Delkevic USA. A few e-mails from some of us might get these headers into production a lot sooner....please forward to anyone you know who might be interested and send Luke an e-mail.

"Here's what I do know… The UK Delkevic team has developed a sample downpipe for the 1250. Now it needs a jig made, and testing after the first one comes out.
If there is enough interest this project can be pushed to the front line, but as it is right now it's probably 8 months out.
If there is a dedicated forum post to just the Delkevic Downpipe interest, you can send me the link and I'll check out how many are actually interested, or they can email me direct.

I'm definaitely interested.
My request is that they be made to also fit within the confines of the new GSX1250FA fairing.
Currently Arrow make a set of headers which really wake the 1250 up but they're expensive and the don't quite fit the FA. Guys have them on theirs with some mods required to the plastics but they're real happy. Also because there is no other alternative other than the Holeshot ones but they are very expensive to ship OS.

So mark me down as a WANT ONE for 1250FA! They must be stainless, decent internal diameter and must work well.

My uncle used to go to high school with Lange Hindle! I played ball hockey with him once as a kid, his knees were all plastic though couldn't move around so well but he played a mean game of ball hockey. The thing with the Hindle full systems is they are just awesome, but pricey. If you wanted to go with a full Hindle system you'd probably love it, but you're looking at close to a thousand dollars. I believe Delkelvich(or whatever the name is) sell just the headers up to the collector box for around $300(for the gen2) so if you already have a slip on with mid-pipe its probably a better deal. The hindle systems are basically "race ready" so I'm not too sure how loud it would be for you. Perfectly legal, but on the edge of "WTF was that!" when you scream by on the highway. But if you wanted a plug and play max horsepower system Hindle would probably be your best bet. Since I will be probably getting the next gen(4) Bandit within a few years I hope the delkelvich people get on it sooner than later.


As far as the emission BS, phuck em. If you have a power commander you can just make a "barely run to get past emissions map" and go for the test. We're lucky in Canada motorcycles are exempt so I can convert my Bandit to coal power anytime I want  :grin:

Update!!!

Just got this from the Delkevic people today (July 2nd, 2012):

Me to Delkevic: "Do you have any idea as to when the headers for the Suzuki GSF 1250 Bandit will be available?"

Delkevic: "We are dyno testing at the moment . It maybe 2-3 more weeks.  Thanks".
