Getting a little jump, so when the first of you get your new water-cooled 650 or 1250, there'll be a place for you to post.

water-cooled 650 or 1250

I went for a pretty long ride this morning, got home and washed my Bandit down, thus cooling the motor with water....does that count?

Sure.  Plus, I'll be posting here all the time.

Oil IS a liquid, you know! (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/DesolationAngels/Emoticons/BanditRider.gif)

Of course oil is a liquid... or at least I hope so. Pretty catastrophic to mechanical things when it turns solid.
I've seen the results before and it's not pretty - or cheap.

... but the name of this section is WATER cooled, not liquid cooled.  :stickpoke:

 :duh: Some people's kids...  :monkeymoon:

 Well, I'll run the risk that we really take this thread down a poor track. Red01 will have to edit this all out at some point :stickpoke:

The new Bandit likely uses at least 40% (likely 50 or even 60%) ethylene glycol mixed with that water, thus turning it back into a Liquid Cooled Engine. Of course the track day guys may convert it to a "water cooled" for the day.

But yup, oil when it gets solid, or even too thick causes lots of grief. Seen it WAY too may times...
