Title: Saddlebag "recall" for reflectors - Bandit 1250-DL650-TL1000
Post by: Ga-Bandit on November 02, 2010, 11:12:57 PM
Feel free to copy and paste. Apparently it's spelled auxilliary and not auxiliary.

From: American Suzuki Motor Corporation:

"Dear Suzuki owner,
American Suzuki's records indicate you are the current owner of a 2007-2009 GSF 1250S/SA, or a 2004-2009 DL650/A or DL 1000.

Genuine Suzuki Accessory Saddlebags for the models listed above were not equipped with side reflectors. When installed, the saddlebags cover up the motorcycle's originally-equipped rear side reflectors. If you did not install auxilliary reflectors on the saddlebags to function in place of the original reflectors, the intended benefit of the rear side deflectors under certain riding conditions is lost.

[If you DID NOT purchase Genuine Suzuki Accessory Saddlebags, please disregard this notice]

If your motorcycle is equipped with Genuine Suzuki Saddlebags (shown below) contact your Suzuki dealer to schedule an appointment for installation of the reflector kit. Your dealer will install the reflector kit at no charge to you for parts or labor."

According to Merriam-Webster (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/auxilliary) it is spelled "auxiliary." (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/auxiliary)

I guess someone at Suzuki thought they could spell well enough not to use spell check.  :trustme:

Funny, my Webster's says it's spelled a-u-x-i-l-i-a-r-y too. Sorry, Ga-Bandit.  :bigok:

Well you have to hand it to Suzuki, it not like the bags had to self jettison on the freeway and cause near fatal accidents (C14) to merit a recall. Now if I can only talk the dealer into just giving me the kit, maybe Ill write Suzuki for and see if I can get the kit shipped. Goodness know if I take my bike to the dealer they will find something else I need, as they dont like to allow you to stand over the mechanic to oversee the work anymore.
