Seat GSF 1250 S Bandit 2012
« on: February 13, 2014, 11:50:06 AM »
Hi,

I have a GSF 1250 A/SA Bandit 2012. The seat is very hard and am looking for another seat.
I need a softer seat and I have looked at some: Sargent, Corbin and more but i is not so many that say they have the seat for my model. Not all of them ship to Norway. Any recommendations?

What you are describing does not sound like the factory seat. Both the Sargent and especially the Corbin, are firmer saddles than stock.

The saddle that came on my Bandit 1250SA was not hard but I found that after an hour my rear was aching badly. I bought a Sargent to replace it which was MUCH more comfortable seat for me. I can stay in the saddle all day long with it.

I purchased a Corbin for a different motorcycle several years ago and only kept it for 3 weeks! I found it so hard it felt like I was sitting on a board. Every time I would hit a bump in the road, the jolt seemed to travel right up my spine. Others think that Corbins are great.  Just goes to show that each persons butt is different.

You'll find that aftermarket and custom saddles have more seat area, thereby reducing the amount of stress at pressure points.

Thank you for your answer. It is the factory seat I think is hard. What you describe is also my experience of the factory seat. The Sargent seat comes in to types. One orderanry and one low. Which did you buy?
Ebay has one on offer now and I think it is the ordenary seat. I am a small guy and I wonder if you think this is ok compared to the factory seat?

I bought the low. I'm only 5ft 8inches in height. It fits well and looks really good on the bike. I got the one with the silver piping on it. Here's a link to a picture of it on the bike:

Nice bike.    Looks just like mine. Attached a photo of my bike.
The link on Ebay shows the seat I have been looking at.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sargent-World-Sport-Performance-Seat-1pc-Fits-Suzuki-GSF1250S-Bandit-2007-2013-/390767826842?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5afb93d79a

I think this is the ordenary seat. If I order the seat it will be a lot of toll and tax to Norway. May be double price.
I have also seen a shop(Sargent Uk) that ship to Norway. If I order there I can get a low seat and also get heat which is ok in Norway. But a lot more expensive.

I use a AirHawk, works great and alot cheaper than a new seat.
