Torque Settings
« on: May 25, 2010, 06:15:05 PM »
Hi Guys!

I am going to service my 2007 Bandit 1250 soon. Since the warranty expired I decided to do the servicing myself and save a lot on labor charges. I would like to know the torque(NM) settings for the Sump Plug, Oil Filter and Spark Plugs. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks for a great forum!

Have you looked around this site; i.e. the downloads section??

Here's what I've found.... but the information isn't complete.

Oil Drain Plug - 16.5 FOOT-POUNDS (on-line converter should get you to newton-meters)

Oil Filter - 2 full turns past the point where rubber gasket contacts motor (you'll probably only get 1-3/4 turns)

Spark Plug - Not sure but apparently they're a real PITA to get to... unless you really need to change them (rough running motor) you might consider leaving them alone.

Good luck and  :welcome: to the site.

Thanx a lot for the info. I will probably leave my plugs in for another 6000km.

Don't worry about the plugs too much. The way new spark plugs are made today they last a long time. I've had mine in for 2 years and pulled them today and they look like new, and have a nice colour. I have an Air bandit how are the water bandits for getting the plugs out?
