Title: Bike Night - Tyler/Longview area

There is an effort to set up a (monthly?) bike night somewhere in the East Texas area around Tyler and Longview.  If anyone is interested please post up.  Preferred nights, suggestions on eateries, etc. are welcome.  This would be open to riders of all brands but we have several Bandit riders in this area and this might be a good opportunity to get together.

Longview would be nice. we use to have one every month in Lindale, at the Sonic, 50 or so bikes would show up, was a lot of fun.

Looks like a trial run is in order.  A room has been reserved at the Back Porch in Kilgore for 11/3, 7pm.

Directions:

Coming from Tyler on Hwy 31 - 31 to Hwy 42, take right and follow to 259. Take right onto 259, go to 2nd stoplight and turn right (the sign on the stoplight will say Spur 101, but it's Main St.), ride till you see the Back Porch street sign on the left (about two blocks from the light), turn in there.

From Longview - Hwy 259 South to Kilgore, go to 2nd stoplight after 259/42 intersection, turn right (the sign on the stoplight will say Spur 101, but it's Main St.), ride till you see the Back Porch street sign on the left (about two blocks from the light) , turn in there.

The Back Porch phone # is 903-984-8141.

As of this posting there are about 6-8 folks committed including a couple of Bandits.  Future meeting places, times, and frequency will be tossed around.  Hope you can make it.

The last meeting was on December 8th and 6 people showed up -  4 rode their bikes and 2 caged it.  I couldn't make it myself but the plan is to do it again next month - same place @ 6:30 pm.  Hopefully the weather will be above freezing for the next meeting. :bigdrink:

I might try to make it to that one.  Not like it is extremely far from me or anything and I know the owners (I use to work for them at their gas station stores).

Just a reminder of our first bike night for 2006.... it will be held on January 12th (Thursday) and it looks like the meeting place is moving to Dudley's Cajun Café  - 1601 East Marshall in Longview.  I will post a map and start time soon.  Hope y'all can make it.   :beers:

A reminder to East Texans..... our Bike Night at Dudleys in Longview is tomorrow night.  Looks to be a great turn-out with 10 - 12 committed and possibly more showing.

We need all the Bandit representation we can muster!!!  :motorsmile:

Start time is confirmed to be 6:30 pm.  Hope to see y'all there.

Still taking votes on a meeting place... if you have a suggestion let me know & I'll add it to the others.  We are trying to rotate the place... so far it's been in Kilgore, Longview and Tyler.  Lindale might be up next but I'll know more this weekend.  Will keep you posted!!  BTW - there's a GS rider that come up to these things from Nach....

Looks like the majority voted to have it in Lindale... at Dos Flamingos Mexican Grill - just west of town.  It is located approximately 3 miles north of I-20 on FM 849.  If you are coming in from the north it's about 1 mile south of FM 16.  

Start time is 6:30 next Thursday night - tables have been reserved.  Come on out!!!!!    :beers:  :beers:

Just another reminder of our Meet & Greet being held tonignt.... the storms have left the area and it should be a great evening for a ride and some good food.  Post up if you are interested and we'll save a seat for ya!!  It looks like we have 10 definite and 2 maybes... the more the better. :motorsmile:  :motorsmile:

The April East Texas Meet & Greet.... to be held this Thursday (13th) at Taco el Conquistador in Bullard, TX.  Start time is 6:30 where we generally gawk at the bikes and tell a few lies before heading inside to eat.   The restaurant is located between FM 2493 & FM 344 on the west side of Hwy 69...  approximately halfway between Jacksonville and Tyler.

Come on out and join us if you can.   :beers:
