Pete gave us a place where we can talk our own brand of b.s. - no interpretation needed. Post up.... good roads, Aggie jokes, recommended choke-n-pukes, what ever rotates your spurs.
If you are ever in the Grand Saline area be sure to check out the Saline Soda Shop. Great big juicy burgers and old fashion malts at their finest. About 15 riders (two from this board) showed up there last Saturday and had lunch and some great riding!!
-
Wow! Cool place...
Thanks Pete for setting this forum up.... :thanks:
Now we need gtbandit (Craig), Vee Dub Nut, many other "bandits" in TX.
Might as well make an announcement....
Some of us bandit guys/gals are riding on April 16 and 17 in NE Texas. Post-up if you're interested.

Postin Up!
May be interested in a a ride in NE Texas later in the summer (as i have nothing to ride right now). I ride with a few people that come in from Houston, and we normally ride North of here. Sometimes into Arkansas. Please post any ride in the future. Thanks.

Will do DP... Always looking for a day ride / meet-n-greet but the next couple of weekends are booked.
That's three of us..... anyone else out there??

Dave, I'm not sure I'll be able to get off from my second job yet, but I'm going to try to make it. I have to be back at work Sunday morning at the FD, but if I can, I'll ride up there Fri. evening and return home Sat. afternoon after lunch.
I'm planning a fall ride in Arkansas if any of you other Texans are interested. There are a few members from Max-Zuke that are planning to make it (most of whom Dave and I can vouch for) and a couple from this board. I will be re-posting the thread on here again soon.

I'm in on the Arkansas ride for sure, so long as my work schedule does not conflict. Sept 11-15 and October 1-2 are bad for me, so far.
-
OOPS.... never mind...found it.
-
I have been reading this forum for a while and posting occassionally. This will be a good spot for organizing rides. It would be good if everyone from Texas put the city they live in on their info as Texas is so large. As an aside my nephew drove to LA last week from Houston. The halfway point is El Paso.
I recognize a couple of names from the Two Wheel Texans forum.
-
Welcome Terry... glad to see you made the trip. Most folks here so far are east of I-35 but run nearly the entire "height" of the State.
-
:banghead: Still workin on the ol' carbs in the DFW area. So, technically, I'm not a Texas rider....yet!
Nevertheless....here I am!
BTW...carb cleaner on your hands WILL begin to dissolve your mouse!

I am from College Station... about an hour or so north of Houston...
Home of the Fightin Texas Aggies... Whoop! hehehe
Very cool to have our own place to post up.... I have no idea what my schedule looks like for April's ride.. My budget is more of a concern, I dont have a lot of money to burn on trips and what not...
Hope to see yall around
-
Hey VeeDub....Was wondering what took you so long to post. We have not had a lot of TX traffic but I hope the warmer weather might inspire some ride days. A few of us from Tyler area are headed south tomorrow but I don't really know the route yet. We are planning on lunch in Jacksonville about 1:00 pm.
It'd be cool to hook up some weekend 'tween your place & mine.... think about it for some future weekend.
A Bandit ride planned for the 16th is getting iffy at this point but still on AFAIK. :beers:

Hope the weathers good and we can do this!

Saw your list.... you only got about 25% of the invitees!! :stickpoke: Just curious - how many Bandits will be there?
-
how many Bandits will be there?
About half the field (6 so far).
-
Newbie here...but otherwise a "Mid-Lifer". Anyway, purchased an 03 1200S recently and would like to know what would be the best mods (shims, which jets) to do if i wanted to keep the stock exhaust? Would appreciate any advice......its free here right????? Guns Up!
-
Glad you hitched up to the site...... great info all around and check out the Peformance forum for specifics on your question. If you are interested in an East Texas ride this weekend head over the Edom on Saturday morning for breakfast and a heckava ride led by Terrebandit. Should be great riding , scenery and weather. :beers:
-
Well the ride was a big success! We had 12 riders for the "fest" and three of them were bandits.
Here are some photos from the event.
Click the link and do the slide show thing!

Hey Bob!
Remember me? I was the guy on max-zuke with the cam issues and you offered me assistance on those. Let me know when your running over at Hallsville and I like to come see you race.

I have returned my bandit to a street bike. The last race I ran in was April, 2 this year, at Rusk, TX, http://www.cherokeecountymotorsportspark.com/
It is a much better track than Hallsville, We might ride down there some Friday night.
It's good to be here and good that all you guys are still here.
If you guys do any day rides on Saturdays, I would like to go. My E-mail is :bholland@jisd.esc8.net
or :bholland3175@earthlink.net

Nice,
I love riding around the Ben Wheeler-Garden Valley-Grand Saline route. I will make it one more Bandit when it comes around again. I spend most time around the Winona down to Lake Tyler area. It's nice to have a more localized forum where I can see just how many of you live around Tyler. Hey Vee-Dub? How many Aggies does it take to fill the Dixie Chicken?
Andrew
-
Welcome Andrew..... I ran Eastside Drive around Lake Tyler tonight for something a little different. Nice run but a lot of LEO's out. I am sure you are familiar with 1002 north of Big Sandy... sweet stretch there for sure!!
-
There will be an all motorcycle race at Cherokee Raceway in Rusk, TX, July the 16th. Should be fun, lot of 8 and 9 second bikes to watch.

I'm in for that!!!! I won't be racing.... just watching. What are you going to do?
Dave
-
I will most likely will just watch. I don't like to race with the short setup, to much wheeling.
-
Y'all just gonna deadhead down there or plan on the long way to Rusk?.... I'd be interested in tagging along either way.
-
I can ride though Tyler.
-
Actually, I would be lying if I said I was familiar with 1002. There IS a sweet twisty somewhat freshly paved FM somewhere just off 16 around Big Sandy that I have loved on. I like Eastside Road. Stop for a smoke on the channel bridge. Work my way over to Hillcreek rd. Grab lunch at the Harbor, then twist my way out toward Kilgore(via Arp and Overton) and come back on FM 2767 to T-Town. I should have my sprocket situation fixed by July, so maybe when ya'll take the long way to Rusk, you might pick up 400cc more as you blow through. By the way, was there a survey crew on Eastside Rd the other day?

There is a park/camping area right by the bridge (Sandy Beach?) that has some good sunset picture opps.

Absolutely..... keep us posted.

Did not see one but it was after 7pm when I went through there.
-
I would do the, "Howdy Y'all!" thing, but you folks know that isn't for real!
How about, "Nice to meet you guys" and I'm glad I found this place. I usually hang out at The GSResources forums, but this all looks interesting and I'm off to check things out!
Later!
-
Welcome Herb!
You are not all that far from us here. Lets ride!

The dates and location for the Arkansas ride have been set. We will be riding out of Bull Shoals from Sept. 22-25. We will be staying at the Pine Lodge motel http://www.bull-shoals-lake.com/ with camping available right across the road at Bull Shoals state park. Check out the 'Rides/Events' section of this board for more info.

I am planning on doing an Arkansas run about 2 weeks after you. My in-laws live in Eastern Oklahoma, near Ft. Smith Arkansas.
-
Don't suppose you can move your plans up 2 weeks?
-
I originally had it planned for a week or two sooner, but a friend with his Bandit 1200 fron Phoenix is having an inspection at his work at that time. So I personally can do it sooner, but he can't.

Looks like this topic isn't exactly a hot one, but I wanted to post up too. I'm in Austin on a B4... anyone else? I know I've seen a lot of B6/B12s, and I used to sell bikes at Woods Fun Center here in Austin. Great rides around here, but the traffic... gah..
-
:thanks: for posting up Mick.... glad to see Texas representing the B4's!!! :thumb:
-
Looks like I'm one of a very very few :thumb: I have yet to see another 400 on the road around here. Not even very many Sixes.
-
My buddy has a B4 that he rides pretty regularly around Austin. Keep an eye on the Cycle Gear parking lot, he works there...

Im here. I have a leaky carb at the moment so am not on the road with the B4, but soon. :)
