Any new Bandit 1250 owners in the UK?

I've looked into the 1250, currently have an 02 1200s but unfortunatly can't afford it yet.
Great looking bike and power to go. Give it another 6 months and the after market stuff will be riffe

Hi David - I collect my 1250S on 3rd March. After reading through this forum I've ordered the DL650 hand guards, a MRA Vario sports touring screen, a polished stainless steel radiator guard and a Suzuki carbon fibre tank guard. It seems that Suzuki USA offers a lot more in the way of accessories than good old Suzuki GB although we don't have to pay extra for ABS.

I've had further thoughts about the DL650 handguards and ordered a LH guard from the DL1000 along with the LH pivot bolt and nut. This is because the DL650 has a cable-operated clutch and so has a slightly different lever arrangement. The DL650 item will still fit but I was uneasy about using a bolt which didn't have the correct length shoulder.

The other thing I discovered is that the handguards will foul the fairing slightly on the S model. I was recommended some GenMar bar risers to get round this problem. I ordered them but never got round to fitting them. In the meantime, I've taken the handguards off until I get time to sort out the risers. Knowing me, I might never find time to do it.  I've also fitted a Givi screen. I had an MRA Vario but I think I am a bit too tall for it though others have reported that it works well for them.

I also have the fairing lowers, rad guard, tank guard, hugger, fenda extenda, Datatool S4 alarm, Suzuki rack and colour-coded box with backrest. With hindsight, I would replace the Suzuki box with a Givi E52 box and forget the backrest. The Givi box is 52 litres and takes two full-face helmets while the Suzuki box is 49 litres and two helmets don't quite fit. I'd keep the Suzuki rack as it gives good grab points for the pillion but since the box is a bit closer to the seat than on the Givi rack, the backrest pushes the pillion passenger closer to the rider.

Just a few thoughts for consideration. Other than that the Bandit is a great bike and excellent value for money. Go easy on it and I trust that it will make you grin from ear from ear.

I thought about the fairing lowers but need convincing they're going to offer me a better ride. The shock looks reasonably well protected so I'll hold on the hugger for now. Definately agree with the fenda extenda but I have a hatred of alarms so never fit them unless forced to by the insurance company. I had a BMW R1200R last year which was a great bike but I'm just not ready for that image I guess. It did turn me onto roadsters though after a long diet of 916s, 996s, and 998s plus GSXR 750 and 1000s and a Fireblade. I'm sure me and the big Bandit will get along fine

Ordered my 1250GT from Castledines in Leicester

To which I've added Hugger, MRA Vario screen, Alarm (Meta), Fender Extender, AP2 fusebox, Powerlet socket, Stebel Compact horn, PIAA Aux Lights and DL650 handguards form the DL 650 I'm trading in to buy the bandit (handguard idea was from this forum, so ta v muchly). Also buying mirror extenders when I can find a cheap distributor in the US, cos the prices here in UK are a right rip off

I just got my spacers but I can't figure out how to remove he stock ones. Can you help me out?

You have to use an Allen Wrench after removing the black caps with a screw driver.  If you look at SteelD's picture you can see the caps on the bolts.  where did you by them?  If you go to holeshot.com I think they have step by step instructions.  That's where I bought mine.

With some very minor modifications the DL650 hand guards have worked perfectly with no pivot pin problems. In fact if you use the Genmar bar raisers which bring the bars up and back, the hand guards clear the wind screen at maximum turn angles. As far as mirror extensions these four dollar 3.5 inch 270 degree moon mirrors really give me maximum side to rear view which overlaps. Also the Power Bronze flip screen which I received free of charge works better then any Iv tried so far. Free because they sent me the wrong screen from the UK and let me keep it as shipping cost so much. When they sent the correct screen they sent me two and allowed me to keep the extra. Selling both for about 1/2 price each on Maxzuk paid for the $100 investment.

Im a new bandit 1250 GT ower from Reading.
I have addedd a GIPro and mirror extenders and im going to fit handlebar raises as well.
