what size number plates have you got? and have you had any problems from plod?
I've just ordered a 7x4, so i can put it up high then lift turn signals and trim bottom of mudguard.
gotta look better than the standard (legal) one.

Sad you guys have to have such huge signboards hangin' on the back of your rides... then to add insult to injury, you have to buy your own plates on top of the rego.

Here in the States, the state issues you a plate and it's a nice small one.

(Not my bike, but I like the pic and it shows the average US-sized m/c plate)

new plate fitted and about 2 1/2" cut off the bottom of the plastic.

Have had this one out with a cop. I have the smaller plate same as your's, and was a bit suss on what I'ed get pulled for, so I ask a bike copper! he told me "as long as we can read it" as in non of the phucked up letters we can have fitted in the plate. if its the standard type face no problems. If you do get pulled its only a £30 fixed fine, no points.

Is that a resonalised Europlate?

My old UK plate was PYE199R, so have things changed since 1976?

Plates in NZ are limited to 2 sizes.

You can have the one like mine shown below or one the same size as the first pic of your bike b4 you cut it down (UK style)

In any case you are only allowed up to 5 characters (personalised or not) and they must be the regulation sized characters

Sounds sort of draconoian but thats NZ for you

Ours in Oz are quite a bit smaller - probably the same as Reds..

Hey at least you're Government isn't seriously considering FRONT number plates - god forbid it should ever become a reality.

not much has changed since 76. the R on the end of your old plate was the year but now they actually put the year as the 3rd and 4th digits, the first 2 are the region it was bought and the last 3 letters i photoshopped off the photo for security, the newest thing here is copying peoples numbers so they get all your speeding fines, due to all the speed cameras going up
