WINTER GEAR

Hi all
Im looking for some new winter textile gear, my budget is about 3-4 hundred quid, the two that ive narrowed down is WOLF or Spada. Does anyone have experience of these textiles jackets and trousers. Or any other suggestions.
  I ride all year round and every day all weathers, so need to find some good gear. My old ixs gear has done well for past three years but now leaks and i have to ride with a water proof suit over the top. Needless to say i end up looking like a flipping bin bag going down the road.
  So if any one else out there has any tips it would be appriecated.

Are all the riders here only fair weather riders. Come on i need to get some new gear and dont want to buy some real rubbish. Any reviews would much be appreiciated.

It appears your country men are either out riding or have all slashed their wrists after realising that England sent their best cricketers to Oz around 200 years ago.

Sorry, couldn't resist.  

Now, I don't know what brands you have over there but, if you get Dri Rider gear, then that's about the best you can get in winter/wet weather gear.  Here in Oz most people refer to ALL textile jackets etc as Dri Rider or 'Dri Rider Style' regardless of who actually makes it.

From all accounts BMW make excellent winter gear, but ofcourse you pay a premium price for it.

Honestly, I don't believe anyone makes 'bad' gear anymore.  It's just what suits you, you're body shape, riding style and budget.

Firstly the cricket thing. I dont follow cricket as i dont see the point of a sport without a engine. But i do believe we did just beat you.

I tend to agree about the Cricket, I usually only watch the last few overs of the One Dayers - the rest of the time it's simply a 'channel surf' past to see the score.

As for the Test Matches, I get all the coverage I need on the news....

you did beat us - once.  Mind you, your old blokes gave us a lesson at Beach Cricket.

Yep, I know the BMW stuff is considered to be for 'older riders', but don't discount they're riding gear - it is good quality, but you do pay for it....

If you go to the Products Review and Gear Talk forums you'll probably find a few threads talking about riding gear...

The main things to consider with ALL riding gear are

does it fit properly,
is it comfortable, and
buy the best that you can afford.....

For years I bought my gear (except for helmets) from second hand stores.

Mate, I think your best bet is to go out, try on some stuff and buy what you like and can afford - if you wait these blokes to respond you'll be looking for summer gear....

What he just said. Most likely thing is no one has any experience with the stuff you're asking about, so you either need to find a board with a more UK flavor that might have more knowledge of this kit, or bite the bullet and become the test dawg yurself.

Cheers chaps but i thought i had logged on to a UK part of the site. Trouble is i have tryed on the new kit that i like, and reviews that i have found on the two different kits have been looked at. I just dont want to send out on new kit only to have to take it back a week later cuz its no good, ive tryed posting on the gear part of site but no joy. Ah well im going have to bite the bullet and pick a name out of the hat and go with that.

Have you tried SUKBOG (Suzuki UK Bandit Owners Group)? It's a Bandit site that's almost all UK riders.

Hi

No experience of either of those brands. I have some HG trousers which are very good (unlike the Akito ones they replaced, which were utterly useless). Currently using a Spidi jacket which is also very good.

In case you're still looking i was in the same boat a very short time ago. I decided to go for Belstaff products once again as in all honesty it was the best i had ever gone for.

Now with that said i lie a little as what i've bought is an american produced product by British Motorcycle Gear (BMG) it's basically Belstaff's older designs of which is made under licence by them.

I've had it for about 3 months now and fit is brilliant site, was easy to look around. Delivery was quick and the weather protection from the jacket i got was brilliant.
