APRIL RIDE
« on: April 06, 2005, 07:16:29 AM »
The blokes, both sexes, I ride with are doing a nice 'sedate' ride on the 17/04/2005.

Leaving sunny downtown Wagga (Fox St Macca's) at 9:00am, taking back roads to Wantabadgery (basically straight roads). Then to Gundagai via the River Road and Nangus (Some nice corners but the roads a bit dodgy)

From Gundagai to Tumut via the Brungle Road (Corners, corners and more corners - almost as good as "Gods Road" but more traffic.

Tumut to Talbingo  - nice scenic ride at 80-100km/hr with Blowering Dam on one side and rolling hills on the other- lots of fun at 'slightly illegal' speeds.  Lunching at the Talbingo Take Away. Some of us might just tackle Talbingo Mountain - you know just for the fun of it and only IF someone twists my arm.

Then home via the Snowy Mountains Hwy (Some more corners) and the 'Doom' (Hume) Hwy.

And finally the South Wagga Bowling Club for some soothing ale.

If anyone is going to be in the area feel free to rockup and join us - the more the merrier.

Sounds cool Aussie, but being right in the heart of Sydney's North Shore I think I would spend more time getting to and from your ride than riding with you and your mates!
That's impressive,
and I'm not easily impressed.

Look, a blue car!

What a great ride - shithouse turn out by the members there was only 4 of us plus a ring in from Tumut.  This bloke must be keen, he rode 100km to Wagga in the morning to meet us so he could ride back home the long way. As it turned out he actually did the same ride as us, just in a diferent order.

Great riding weather, 26c and slightly overcast to keep the sunburn at bay.  The only catch was the mob of cattle that some cocky had let out slowed us down for a K or so near Nangus.  The Snowy Mountains Hwy from Tumut to Talbingo is one of the best roads, open sweepers, nothing to tight, just brilliant at 120-130km/hr no braking required.

Oh and I can really recommend the Talbingo General Store for lunch. Their hamburgers are made from real meat, not reconstituted chicken lips.

I'd have some photos but someone forgot to pack it and I didn't realise it until we were 600k's down road :duh:
