Congratulations Australian Sheep Shearer.
« on: June 13, 2005, 07:59:10 AM »
Australia has taken out five finals of the world shearing championships in the southern Queensland city of Toowoomba at the weekend.

A shearer from Willalooka, in South Australia's southeast, won the Golden Shears.

He also won the world teams event and the Australian Open championship for machine shearers.

It is the second time 31-year-old Shannon Warnest has taken out the event after last claiming the title in 2000.

But he said a previous victory did not make yesterday's final any easier.

"I got snagged up in the middle with three or four of my solid sheep," Mr Warnest said.

"I wanted to get out the way and they were a little bit more solid than I thought, so I really had to just knuckle in and sort of do the job on them and the last two or three sheep was me best sheep and I come home with a bit of steam."

He says he is looking forward to a few days break before heading back to work.

The New Zealanders  or the Maori ALL BLACKS were busy giving the Lions a good old fashioned hiding in the rugby in the weekend----

oh and thats right, the WARRIORS were giving the aussies a good hiding over the weekend as well,in the league,

hell.if we'd known the sheep shearing was on i would have gone over myself and sorted them out...

Either way its's just not cricket, just like that silly Twenty/20 game isn't cricket. Anyway, we've got to let the Poms win something that way they stay interested. As for the Kiwis, well I believe we beat them at REAL FOOTBALL all the time.
