Have a safe one, boys and girls.
« on: December 15, 2006, 10:48:19 PM »
Well its that time off year again, bah efen hum bug :beers: .
And me little long haired mate, Santa efen claus, dropped in early, cause I've been a good boy  and reckons I need a holiday, to bloody write I do. Well he sent me a holiday for 2 to Magnetic island for 11 days 10 nights.
He very nearly took them of me when I started going though the little black book for the right 2nd person :duh:
So I guess I'm stuck with the minister of war as my holiday partner  , even if she don't cut a dashing figure in a 2 piece cosi at the moment. :stickpoke: So anyway just in case I don't get a chance to get online before we head off, have a safe xmas break and a happy new years.

Hi guys I'm back  Loverly place the Maggie island, but I must say as I can not remember the last time I went on a holiday without a motorcycle, it's good to be home. Yes I did go straight to the shed to give the bikes a big hug   and a pat on the bumb.
But sadly motorcycling was never far from my thoughts, as I don't think I have ever seen so many efen squids.
Hundreds of the F*#**#s on those mossie sounding annoying scooters. We carry on about the squid we see, but honestly having at times a squid myself nothing, and I do mean nothing equals the squidiness, that is allowed up there. I try very hard to keep myself in check, with its thier life, I would not like it if they tried to tell me how the hell I should live my life, but after some soul searching, and even after having talked to over just a few drinks the young lady who owns the scooter hire bussines, (A head smart young lady, a 2001 bonnie owner who in my book, is a rider first.)
Maybe it is time, efen hell I don't beleive i'm saying this, but just maybe its time it was made against the law to be a squid. Bikinis and flip flops, (of  course a legal lid, made them safe, and 10% braver, and I'm sure thats only so there is something left for the cops to id them) Man I can honestly say I was sickened by the thought of these squids, who some it was quite clear had never ridden before, on roads that I would consider piss poor, and totally undisireable to the 2 wheeled motorist, even for pushbikes the roads are bad news. Sanddrifts, gravel, big pot holes, and very badly damaged tropical road system.
But other than that, I'm back rested and ready for another year. Now back to the shed a quick wipe down, a little dust has settled upon the beasts, followed by a blast up the mountain and back to adjust the attitude, and the world will all be peachie again. Happy New Year guys

Glad you had a good time, bastard, glad you had a good holiday, bastard, glad you're rested, bastard....

Seriously, you and Donna deserved a break.

Just so you know, mate, I had the last week off work, and what did I do......

Cleaned alot of the crap out of the shed, not all but a lot,
Cleaned all the crap out of the office,
Cleaned all the crap out of the sunroom/kids play room,
Made 2 trips to the tip to get rid of all of the above crap.

Took the youngest out for a game of Pitch'n'Putt - I hate golf - even if every hole is a 3 par - I HATE GOLF - yes the 11yr old beat me....

Oh I did take the eldest out on to one of my favourite local roads - his response - "Dad, that was really boring" - my reply - "well at 80km/h I suppose it is, but trust me at 120+ it takes on a whole different feel......"

By the way, are they clouds I can see in the sky in your photo, looks like what I used to think were rain clouds...

....and no offence but thanks for not showing us a photo of yourself in speedo's.....  :stickpoke:  :stickpoke:

yes aussie they are clouds, but no rain.
See what happens when I go away, 3 inches of hail christmas day, just down the road from home.
Major rain even in Bribane or should I say Bris-vegas.
But way up there near townsville dry. Not even Hot, warm but not hot, was hotter in Melb before christmas than in townsville and maggie island, all the time we where there.

Heres that pic ya so wanted

12 months of illegal steriods, and some working out.
But you ride gods road at legal speeds :toofunny:
Next you'll be saying that the minister I do the same :duh: and that when we leave the site, we do so quitely :toofunny:

Ok you got me there,

maybe The Treasurer will take the Staintunes off the M750 and put the standard pipes back on......

Naa, I've got a better chance of doing the speed limit on Gods Road - well I occaisonally do - some of the corners at the Tumut end are a bit on the tight side...and I ONCE played 'Tail End Charlie' on a club ride when we had a couple of learners.....

Speaking of 'Standard' Pipes.  The Treasurer is seriously contemplating selling the M750 and buying a ......

wait for it

BMW F800ST

That's right and bloody BMW......

She test road one a month or so back and preferred it to the VTR1000 she'd tested.  She's ridden all the current Monsters, other than the S4R, and doesn't like 'em.

The F800ST is only $15k, which surprised the hell out of me.  And, apparantly Staintune already have a pipe for them.  Even so, it'll be 18 months before she does anything - she's got to finish paying off MY B12 first, then start saving...but then again, if someone was to make a really really good offer on the M750 she maybe tempted sooner.

Don't tell her I said this, but I reckon she's getting old and wants bike with some comfort.......

I have to admit though, I test rode the R1200RT and K1200GT. Don't like the GT, however, I wouldn't mind owning the RT, very comfortable, and I reckon with time I could punt it along almost as quick as the B12.  But at $30k+, I'd find it pretty hard to justify a bike that costs more than our car.
