Hi folks.

I am Chris Cooke from Melbourne an aged biker now on his 52nd bike.

Present bike is an 03 Yamaha FZ1 which as with many others I bought from Mick Hone an old friend.

My FZ is highly modified to suit me and my track day jaunts but my wife has expressed a desire to finally ride pillion (after 30 years marriage) so having looked at all options I have decided on an 08 Bandit, which I pick up from Mick in September, so all advice greatly accepted.

Cheers
Chris

Welcome  :welcome: Chris - good to have another Aussie on the board.

B6Mick is from Melbourne - North/Eastern suburbs I believe.

I'm from the Riverina/South West slopes area of NSW - great roads right on my door step.

I've got an 02B12 - totally stock.  I have to say that it does everything I want from a bike - it can tour, scratch, cruise and commute - however, if I was in to track days and the like I probably wouldn't use the B12.

I can't speak for the 3rd Gen bikes (1250), but there are a number of guys on the site here who can.  Have a look in the 650/1250 forums.

Welcome Chris. As Aussie said, I'm outta East Melb, not quite north but. 5 min from the Mountain Hwy blast. And then there is Wizurd (Rick G1 1200) his just up the Hill a way.
I'm sure you will love the Bandit, and to the uneducated they are the ulimate sleeper, which shytes peoples to tears

I've even had blokes come up to me and tell me how impressed they where of the performance of the B12, and when I inform them its only a 600, they turn away quite pissed. :taz:

And I know Mick and Ziggy will look after all your bandit needs, Mick being the Suzuki man from way back.

 :welcome:  :congrats:  :bigok:

Quick Aussie whats the dates for the upcoming Redback rally. :bandit:
Foot loose and fancy free.

I think it's the 3rd weekend in March, so it's a way of yet.  We've got our AGM on the 25th of this month so give the new committee a chance to settle in and we should know the dates by October.

By the way, The Treasurer will be back down your way next week.  This time over at Coburg for 2 weeks - timed it pretty well actually, my niece is having her hens night while Janice is down there, so it saves her another trip.
