LESSONS LEARNT
« on: March 20, 2006, 01:43:50 AM »
Lessons Learnt from the Rally.

1.  Don't just THINK about taking some sort of mattress - do it
2.  Before saying "Yep, sure I've got room in my tent" make sure the prick doesn't snore louder than a Harley with open pipes.
3.  Don't just THINK about taking a pillow - do it - stuffing you clothes in the sleeping bag cover just doesn't do it anymore.
4.  If you up the pre-load for a heavy load - take the time to drop it back again when the load isn't there - christ my kidneys and back took a pounding on the first leg of Gods.
5.  Take the extra minute to ride to the BACK of the Rally Site away from the Pub and set up camp there.  The locals just got louder and louder, and I really didn't need to hear the domestic about the guy who decided to ride home at 2 in the morning.
6.  Take more than one set of ear plugs....
7.  Don't leave the Treasurer at home....

1 Yes know what ya mean, this year we made sure there was no room for septic to pitch his tent next to ours. A great nights sleep was had without the bloody chainsaw going in the back ground. phew.
2 Remembered to bring our own punture repair kit, for the blow up matress, and still at the end of the weekend threw the bloody thing away.
hey but at least there was one thing that went down on me every night  :bigok:
