FRONTLINE MOTORCYCLES WAGGA
« on: December 03, 2006, 03:26:16 AM »
I've previously given praise to Frontline - one of the local bike shops.  I'm now retracting the recommendation.  I asked them to check the KLR over properly before I bought it.  They gave it a clean bill of health saying "Good buy, put a deposit on it now before he sells it to someone else".

Well since putting the motard rims on we've discovered that the steering head bearings are not healthy and the front left axle nut has obviously seen the tarmac up close and personnel.  During the Toy Run it became real obvious that the thermostat is either the wrong one, set wrong or just plain dead.  The poor KLR started to overheat and there was no sign of the fan comming on.  Then after the toy run we noticed that one of the two throttle cables was snapped - closer inspection showed that both are not healthy.  Not at all happy, and 'The Eldest' is really pissed because I've told him he's not to ride it until we can get the Thermostat and throttle cables fixed.

A real big thumbs down to Frontline.... :annoy:

Sales of goods is all well and good when the guy who tell's you the bike is "all good" is the bloke who sold it to you.....

But in this case, it was an independant mechanic/bike shop that simply didn't do their job properly.

the bloke who sold it to me said nothing about the bike being in a particular state of repair - he simply said that for the time he owned it he'd never had a problem....ofcoarse that doesn't actually mean anything.

As for going to the 'small claims' etc etc, I can actually do more 'damage' to the shop by telling everyone in Wagga how f'ing bad they are, and how they missed what turned out to be fairly obvious problems, had the actually bothered to put the bike on a stand and actually look at it.

The KLR is now with another dealer that I trust slightly more - they've never actually f**ked up on a service, they have taken their sweet time about it, but never actually pharked up.
