I had a great time at Boss 05. Apologies for the late post.
I don't know if it is the type of person that buys a Bandit or what, but everyone was great.
Pete. Great job. Without you it would not have happened, but that is not enough. Even when you were in pain and we had to literally pick you up, you were thinking of us. Not fair to you, but that seems to be the kind of person you are.
To the Ohio guys I rode with most - Thanks.
Highway Goddess, great time riding with you, we made the best of a mediocre misty day, had a good meal and conversation, too.
All others, thanks for adding to the flavour (Canadian spelling). Without all of you this would not have been the same.
Here is a chuckle (for you, not me) Some of you may recall that I received the 'TRAILER TRASH" award for longest distance on a trailer. How appropriate -
On the way home I was trailering the bike thru Pittsburgh when the 'incident'happened.
The trailer was a frame trailer that I bought 20+ years ago. 17+ years ago, I bolted the plywood platform to the frame. Then I bolted the 3 rails to the plywood (not the frame).
17 years later the dryrot in the plywood took over and when I went around 'that' curve the 3 rails and attached bike separated from what was left of the rotten wood and the bike and rails skidded thru the intersection, actually passing me in the process.
Fortunately 2 Harley drivers didn't laugh too much (yet) and helped put the wreck back on the frame. Limped most of the way home.
Speedo, footpeg, turnsignal, all left side plastic, some right side plactic, new paint job (this winter), etc... eBay lives!
Done? Not by a long shot, Got back into Canada (barely, Niagara Falls is the border) and the front suspension of the truck broke.
Not a good day, should have ridden down.
The moral of the story is ride your bike, don't be trailer trash.
Final note. After my great time with you, I told my Sunday riding group to avoid the BRP and get off into the valleys as much as possible. They went down in early July and came back praising the roads. One guy said he can't ride in Ontaro any more.
See ya
