Can everyone post pictures of all the different windscreens?  Please include where you got it from, too.

On the two red B12's on the left , you have the stock clear screen and a Zero Gravity Double Bubble. I bought my DB directly from ZG, but with a little searching you can save a few bucks. OTOH, if you buy direct from them, they will give you a 10 day trial and refund your money if you return it to them in like new condition if you don't like it for any reason. I orignally bought their Sport Touring screen, it punched a nice calm hole thru the air for me, but the wind noise, for me, was more than I liked, even WITH ear plugs (which I always wear anyway), so I sent it back and traded it for the DB.

Click here for a giant version of the above pic.

Click here for a low res pic of the ST screen on my bike.

Keep in mind that windscreens are a very personal item! What is great for one, can be miserable for someone else. Your torso height, posture on the bike, helmet selection and personal tolerance levels are some of the variables your dealing with here.

This is a ZG on my 96 600S.   It raise the wind turbulance from my neck to the middle-top half of my helmet.  I'm 6' 4" and I won't go back to the stock sized wind shield.  Found it for $49 + SH on Ebay new.

I got the Suzi accessory which is about 2" tall than the OEM and is tinted.  That little bit was all I needed to direct wind over my head but that would depend on your height!  You can see a pic @

For some reason they persist that you have to change the oil filler cap to use this windscreen...been on their site for a couple years.  I didn't change my cap, and the windscreen worked ANYWAY!

To make matters worse, the chrome oil cap doesn't seem to be available anymore.  :duh:

I currently have the ZG Sports Tourer windscreen on my 2001 1200S. My comments are the same as Paul's - it definitely makes a much bigger hole in the air, but the noise is awful. I bought the bike with a ZG SR screen, and I found that any speed over 75 or so the buffeting of my shoulders made riding uncomfortable. With the ST, I've had it briefly into triple digits, and it's pretty stable, 80 to 85 is no drama at all. But it sounds like being at the airport near the prop planes, a constant drone. Anybody try any mods to reduce the turbulence? There is edging like this:

http://www.saeng.com/4000.htm

Or I thought about letting additional air behind the screen, like an NACA duct I have seen on some other screens. I should note I have a long torso, equivalent to about 6'3" height, and size 46, so there's a lot of me in the windstream.

Thanks,

Brian

What might help the ST screen is if you enlarged the vent at the bottom of the screen. The ZG's vent on the ST & DB screens (haven't seen their SR) is quite a bit smaller than the OEM screen's vent.

I don't know if there are still any Saeng edging owners that still post, but from what I recall of the few who did experiment with it, it didn't make much of a difference.
