I have been reading the reviews you guys have made of the various windscreens you can get for the 2005 bandit 1200s , I am 6 4 275, as far as i can tell the zuk windscreen probably offers the most protection for someone my size, I was curious where i could purchase this wind screen, I went to  Ron Ayers.com but i don't see any listings for a "zuk" windscreen
 suggestions would be appreciated.
 THanks

Hey RS:

I have been thinking about one of these myself. I have seen & sat on a Bandit that was equiped with one, but did not ride it.

It does feel like it would provide much better protection than the stock screen. I am hoping someone can comment.

New to the forum, so first post and all...

I'm 6'2", 260 and I got the Suzuki windscreen and I will say that it does work, however when I have my wife on the back I noticed that the airflow off the screen onto my helmet would buffet badly and cause her to helmet to hit mine alot more than with the stock screen. She isn't to fond of riding however so I wont be taking it off any time soon but if you do alot of 2-up riding it might be something to consider, or just be sure your passenger is short ;)

Just as a point of reference the aftermarket  Zuk screen is 2" taller than stock and raises (in my case anyway) the wind flow about 4" when sitting upright in a normal riding position.  I think this would be the same regardless of how tall you are.

Well my better half bought me the Zuki screen for Christmas. I currently have the Zero Gravity SR and the new screen rises about 1" higher than the zero gravity on the bike. (This does not include the bubble effect) Just eyeballing things it should deflect the wind about 4" higher as mentioned by Rcook.

A couple of months to go before the road test.

I have the suzuki 2" taller wind screen on my B-12. I love it at 6'3" the wind goes over my sholders so I'm not getting center punched all day. with the stock screen the still air bubble would collapse at about 80 or so causing a lot of turbulance. With the taller screen the bubble doesn't collapse at all even at hyper speeds. That's both the good and bad. It makes it hard to judge speed by wind noise.  I was out in the desert tuddling along at what I thought was a comfertable clip and thought I'd stand up to streach my back, when I did I about got blown off the bike. One should galance at the speedo before standing up and if it says a buck and a quarter ya might want to slow down a bit befre standing up. The other time I got a speeding ticket for 71 in a 55. On my way to work not in any hurry in the slow lane by myself. Saw the red dot on my wind screen and looked at the speedo and it said 79 mph(10% error). I didn't notice my speed creeping up due to the lack of wind noise.

Is the fairing the same for the 650 as on the 1200?

I don't think so.  They redesigned the fairing for the 2005 model.

Sorry - but I'm new to the bandit game....they changed the 650 and the 1200 in 05?  So are they both the same now - are the fairings interchangeable?

The 6 (or 650) is a year ahead of the 12.  The 12 was updated to the 05 650-style fairings in 06 ( you'll see the 05 B650 and 06 B12 referred to as third generation or 3G a lot).  I have no ide of the compatibility of the 2G screens with the 3G body.  I kinda doubt it, tho.

FYI...

To the best of my knowledge the ZG Sport/Touring windshield is the tallest available.  I had the Suzuki accessory taller screen and the ZG is taller.  For what it's worth.

The bodywork of each generation are interchangeable between the 600/650 & 1200, but they do not directly interchange across generations. The only differences are colors and decals - and 1G and early 2G B6's don't have a gas gauge or the provisions in the tank for one.

Just to be sure I'm clear, here's a little example:
You can put the windshield from a 2G B6 on a 2G B12, but you can't put a windshield from a 2G bike on a 3G or a 1G.
