Congrats -- I've barely got 1/10th that. :congrats:

This raises the question of what the MTBF of a well-maintained Bandit engine is.  I'd had the impression it was in the 50-60K mile range before a rebuild was generally necessary....

Very cool - congrats. Guess that helps clear up the mystery about longevity!

Other than chains, sprockets, wheel bearings, brake parts, etc. the basic engine, trans, etc with the exception of clutch, should go 100 k miles without batting an eye, and likely 200 k miles is possible. (and maybe even likely).

Hey txbanditrydr, congrats on making 50 k (80,000 kms). I should hit 50k kms this year, but that will have taken me 5 seasons.

Yeeeehaw!  (You should hear me do that in person!)  I'm about to hit 36K myself, although that's on an '03, but that whole "learning to ride" thing the first year delayed me a bit.  Congrats, buddy!

Thanks everyone... I'm pretty stoked about it and the Bandit just keeps running better and better.  Still bone stock on the engine side of things - carbs have NEVER been taken off.  The last valve adjustment was only 15,000 miles OVERDUE and every one was dead on middle of spec.

Every time I start lusting for a new bike (GSXR1000 has me a bit giddy) I remember how easy this bike is to work on, how reliable it's been, and how much fun it is to 1) tour on, 2) carve corners, 3) drag race, 4) commute (daily) and lastly - 5) haul stuff... because when I hit 50k miles I had 2 cases of beer strapped on!!!!!!!!!!!   :beers:  :thumb:  :singing:  :bigdrink:

Okay.. so I sound like a shill for the Bandit but WE ALL know it's true.  Here's to many more miles.... safely ridden!! :burnout:

Wow, tx.....you ARE hard core to put up that kind of mileage in that length of time......
but your riding season IS twice as long as us poor mokes up in the Great White North.
 :congrats:  regardless.
