Geeze...I dunno about you guys in the UK. Here in the US....we trim the rear fender a bit, peel off some decals, bolt on a few 'purty' parts...and think we have a 'custom' bike! k:
:headscratch:

Looks great! :beers:

I only do two things in my life...... ride and polish! :moon:

If by 'bugs' you mean the headlights, they're so overdone here, every bandit has a set.

Over the winter I am going to fit a GSXR 1000 headlight in a one off alluminium housing and some slab yokes and risers. :lick:

If you'd paint "Vols" down the side of the tank, that orange bike would be an idol around these parts. http://utsports.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/tenn-m-footbl-body.html

It's a sweet-arse bike anyway.

Wow!!

What did you have to do to get that Simpson windscreen on? I bought a predator but haven't taken the time to install it yet.

Any pointers?

The Simpson was a b###h to fit.

The brackets that came with it were too short and I had to cut away some of the fairing to fit :banghead:

My only advice is take it really slowly and keep checking as you go along!

The irony is that I'm going to take it off and fit a GSXR headlight and clocks this winter :screwy:

LMAO, yeah, I knew it would be too much to ask for it to fit easily and well without taking a saw to a $400 windscreen

Thanks fo rthe info.

hmmm, what did you say you were going to do with your simpson?

It isn't finished yet. I'm going to wait for the GSXr forks then rebracket it

Good work fitting the Simpson!

The belly pan was made by my own fair hands

I wanted something that was tailor made, close fitting (you can't see it from behind) and a little different.

I've had so many comments about it that I may try and find a way of producing them in quantity.

hehe, I'd be up for quantity 2

Any chance on me jumping on a prototype?

I like the tank too. I was scetching out something similar but well done on the flat top look too.

What did it take to fit that SV tailpiece to the bike?

Hydro, in his first thread (lost in the board crash of '05) he revealed it was a GSXR1000 tail.
(But didn't give details on the complexity of the swap.)

Thanks Red, it is a GSXR1000 tailpiece. It went on pretty easy all things considered. Had to cut off about 6" of subframe, make a new battery box and relocate it, new bracket so that the solo cowl locks in place and that was about it (condensed version!).

I'll let you know if I do start making more of the belly pans

Sorry, I still don't know how to post a full size pic so just click on the thumbnail :screwy:

The tank took a lot of work, it's the original tank with sheet metal welded to it to create the look.

It's actually easier than making a clickable thumbnail.

Here's the code you used:
(spaces added to prevent it from displaying)
[ U R L = h t t p ://img150.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img150&image=1172.jpg ][ i m g ] h t t p ://img150.exs.cx/img150/3145/1172.th.jpg[ / i m g ] [ / U R L ]

To post the whole image, all you had to do was:
[ i m g ] h t t p ://img150.exs.cx/img150/3145/1172.jpg[ / i m g ]

Viola!

And since you're using ImageShack, they give you the various codes for however you want to use it.
