B12 fork wap
« on: July 18, 2006, 02:09:45 PM »
It seems BBS was down last week so I had to fly blind and bought a pair of forks off an 03 B12, hoping they'd fit my 600. Obviously they don't... My Q - is it possible to just swap the innerds from the B12 to my B6, springs, adjuster, dampening rod etc? Anyone have any experience? Rather not pull both apart just to find out it can't be done.. Thanks!!!

No, it's not reasonably possible, the two have totally different innards.

You can install them on a B6 if you use B12 triples or hone your B6 ones out 2mm (best done my someone with machine shop equipment). You'll also need B12 calipers because the B6 ones won't mate to the B12 forks. Might need the B12 rotors, too... basically, this swap is best done with an entire B12 front end, not just the fork tubes.
