I drilled new drain holes after I reversed the mirrors. Think of the rabbit ears as giving your bike character. You are the only one that really knows why your bike looks a little bit different.

I am not unhappy with the position of my B12S mirrors!  I position them to show the lanes on either side of me (similar to the way I do on the car, from the way the guys on CAR TALK suggest).  If I want to see directly behind me on the bike or in the car, a have to move a little, but the mirrors are generally to show me what's in my blind spot, trailing me in the lanes beside me.  Using this method, I do NOT look at my elbows in the mirrors.

<The CAR TALK adjustment is basically that you lean aganist the driver's window and adjust the mirror, and then lean over to the passenger side and do the same.  The point is NOT so that the mirrors are looking down the side of your car, which is how most people seem to have their mirrors set.>

Good point Sven. Guess my bad habit of trying to see behind me stems from always looking for that flashing red light. And I have to admit that on at least one occasion I have almost changed lanes without seeing that guy in my blind spot. Maybe the little wide angle stickons is the way to go. Or by blocking both mirrors out a total of 80mm may just give me the advantage of both views

Overdue followup: Weather you look behind you or not, the fact is, I do. So I made up a couple of 40mm deep, billet aluminium blocks that I placed between the fairing body and the mirrors. Found a Ford spray can that comes real close to the colour match. Looks pretty good. And, you know what? It works great. Just out far enough that I can see behind and beside both sides.

I think the B12 mirrors are the 1st I have used on a motorcycle were not kaleidoscopes and really work. I have them adjusted so they barely clip the ends of my elbows so as to have a reference point between me and my field of view. To close the gap behind me and further out, I added medium size moon mirrors at the far top end of each mirror which doesn't not interfere with the mirrors field view but greatly adds to the field of vision and closes all blind spots. The picture below doesn't do it justice as far as actual function but you get the idea.
