Personally, I scan the magazines and Net for prices and then order from Dennis Kirk, who'll beat anyone's tire price by $1/tire and have them shipped to my door, then take my wheels and new tires to my favorite local shop for mount & balance. (You'll need to do some shopping on that end, too.)

Which model of Dunlops?
$260 for just the tires, or is that out the door, taxed, mounted and balanced?

You can get a pair of Dunlop D205 or D220's for ~$200 online (shipping included). Maybe less if you shop around more than I just did. I just went to one place I know usually has some of the lowest prices. The D220 is Dunlop's latest sport-touring tire, while the D205 is their "older" S-T model. (The D220's were ~$4/pair more than the D205's.) Many folks prefer the 205's over the 220's. I don't know though, I've never used either one.

So, if you can get tires mounted and balanced for less than $60, you could save some dosh. Where I am, it costs me $40 to get a pair of "carry-in" tires mounted and balanced. (I could save another $10, but have to go another 50 miles to the other side of Metro Seattle - and that's not worth it to me.) For a $20 savings, I don't think I'd bother. It's nice to support your local brick & mortar shops when they can be fairly competitive. If you don't they'll disappear and then there won't be anyone to mount & balance your baby's new shoes.
You can try to see if you can barter their price down with what you can find with your on-line shopping skilz. Sometimes it works.

i ended up getting the dunlop 205s... road on them for the first time today... i seem to grip the road a lot better then my old tires, but i havent gotten a chance to really get into a lean on a turn cause ive heard things about tires being slippery when you first get them until the first 100 miles. Is this true??
what do you guys think about the 205s? do they last a while? Do they grip the road well?

Yes. You just need to be careful in when and where you lean, but eventually, you need to wear that slippery stuff off.

I like to go ride desolate roads those first few miles and weave as much as I can to wear them in.
