B6 Engine Swap?
« on: September 13, 2006, 07:12:17 PM »
Hi I’m thinking of putting a bigger engine in my b6 k1. I’m thinking the gsxr 750 or the gsxf 750 engine. I need some question answered though, so if any1 has done this mod before I would love some advice. Thanks.

1. What carbs do I need?
2. Will the engine bolt straight in?
3. Can I use the b6 ignition?
4. Will the throttle position indicator mess up with new carbs?
5. What will happen with my digital Speedo can I use my old sprocket cover?

How hard s it to drop a 750 head onto it? I have done small jobs like valve clearances, clutch change and jetted carbs.

Type in the name OLDSKOOLSUZUKI into a search engine and have a look at this web forum..this topic has been raised a few times. The swaps youve mentinoed are both popular and possible.Heres my 600 Bandit, fitted with 1200 swing arm, rear shock, wave disc,55mm jack up,progressive fork springs,sv650 adjusters, braided hoses,13 row oil cooler and lines,Scorpion race can, loads of polish etc...i did it all and dont think its bad for nearly 50000 miles on the clock!?80000km!Tim
