Corbin 1G Gunfighter and Lady seat
« on: March 13, 2006, 12:55:25 PM »
I bought a used Corbin Gunfighter and Lady seat awhile back. It is much more comfortable than stock but I sit lower on it than I do on my factory gel seat. I like the feel of the Corbin but I am tall and have bad knees so I need all of the seat height I can get. I would like to compare my seat to other Corbins you guys have to see if my seat was originally ordered cut down or if it is standard. I have read in the FAQ how to post photos but I am fairly computer illiterate and still don't get it. I would appreciate it if some of you could post photos of your Corbins and or allow me to email a few photos of my seats to you so that you could post them for me. Thanks, flip

Corbin seats for both the 1G & 2G normally sit lower (~1") than stock.

Thanks, Paul. Some photos I have seen in adds for Corbin Bandit seats seem to show a relatively flat area that the rider sits on. It could just be the camera angle on the photos. My Corbin seat does not have a flat area. From the top of the hump that separates the rider and passenger behind the rider's seat, the seat drops down and turns to the middle of the rider's seat and keeps turning and rises back up on to the gas tank. It's not a constant radius turn but it never levels off.
I don't know anyone around home that has a Bandit with a Corbin seat that I could compare to. I think this seat may have been ordered with the rider's part lowered or perhaps the hump/rise between the rider and passenger pushed forward or both. If my Corbin is lower than normal, I would like to try another Corbin but I'm not willing to part with that much money until I am sure the new seat would be different than mine. Or if mine is lower, perhaps someone here that is shorter or wants a lower ridning position would be interested in trading.
Thanks, Phil

Jim, I think the gel seat is a keeper. So far , it is the most comfortable seat I have.

Here is a picture of my Corbin seat. Does the front look lower than yours?

That looks like a more pronounced 'scoop' than what my 2G has.

Here you can kinda get an idea of how it compares to the stock seat on Bobcat's silver 2G B12.

Thanks, Paul. Anyone else have a photo of a Corbin on a 1g Bandit?

Raising the rear end changes the seat height but does not change the distance from the seat to the footpegs. That is where I want more room.
