There have been alot of negative comments on these tires but usually its a given the complaints are already known.  What are the specific gripes y'all have - They are the OEM tire on the 2005 and I'm wondering what to expect in all the usual areas..... handling, mileage, wet traction to a small degree, etc. - why the huge knock and do I need to chuck 'em now or let them run their course??

If your experience is bad in some area it would be helpful if you included your riding style too.  I enjoy a "spirited" ride (yes, sober) but I'm no knee dragger by any means.

My 2002 came with them stock, I wore them out then switched to Metzler/ Pirelli's and haven't looked back. The Michalins were fine but the Metzler/Pirelli's are great.

My '01 had the Macadam 90X - no real complaints about the back one. The front one cupped early though. I lived with the cupping until the rear finally wore out and then replaced the set.

Is it 90X's on the '05? Or something else? I thought the 90X was discontinued a couple years ago.

Like Paul, I had no real complaints about the rear, but the front tyre caused a really shitty "wobble" which, if you let it, would end in a nasty tank slapper.  Consequently the front end was pretty vague.  I didn't wait for it to wear out, I changed to the M1 as soon as I could afford it.

They are 100X on my 2005... not sure what the difference would be.  Glad to hear they aren't a total crock but time will tell.   :thanks:

I got 6 grand out of my stock macs and have no complaints. Got stuck in rain several times and seemed to handle the twistys fine. I just ordered a new set of Continental road attacks, I've heard nothing but good things about this tire!!

The macadam 90's were replaced with the 100's.
my 02 b12 had the 90's as standard and as with Paul  my front went before the rear did too, so soon changed them to Avon Azaro's. These were great compared to the 90's they inspired loads more confidence, have now worn them out and now have Metzlers roadtec Z6 on and after spending the past 2 days riding like a man possesed  :taz: these are the dogs goolies and thay didn't take long to scrub in either.

I liked the mac 90's and the mac 100's.  The 90's had a problem with cupping up front.  I looked at your tires the other night Jay and you have mac 100's on your 2005.  I got about 6K out of the mac's

I got the best mileage out of the Avons (over 7K) and they were as sticky as the macs.  Right now I have macs on my bike.  They were off my crashed 2G and I took them off with about 1300 miles on them before the bike went to the insurance grave yard in the sky.

I'm going to pick up another set of AVON's, next time.  They are the best for my riding style.  I've had mac 90's, 2-sets of mac 100's, MEZ4's, BT020's and Avon Azaro's 45/46.

Since the language filter on the board is set for the American dialect of English, I think you can get away with "bollocks."

I've also heard it referred to as "the dog's danglies" - which seems to roll off the tongue better than bollocks or goolies.

Well I was hoping to be awake when the Aussies get on the chat room.... now THERE are some interesting words.  :stickpoke:   Just never seem to get there at the right time.   :boohoo:

On a slightly serious note it is definitely a very kewl thing that Bandits are a world wide phenomena.

Guess these tires ain't so bad after all.  I will post an update when I replace them.  Thanks to all who posted and other comments will be welcomed. :beers:  :beers:
