Is it okay to mix a master cylinder (front) from one bike with calipers from another?

The 2G bandit 12 has Tokico 6 pots, as does the late GSXR family, but the master/reservoir is different. Assuming you get lines made with the proper fittings, is there any danger to this? I want to keep bandit controls.

I have Tokico 6 Pot Brakes on my 98 B12, using the stock master cylinder. Works fine.

Yup, the 6-pots from the 2G B12 are a common & easy upgrade from the 1G's 4-pots. You just need the calipers and the hollow bolts for the brake hoses. The Tokico calipers have a different pitch than the Nissins.

If ya wanna make an upgrade...I definitely reccomend Earl's brake hoses.....I have the carbon look ones.and they rock.

I am about to fit a set of ZX14R radial master cylinders to my K5 1200S.

Currently running stock master cylinders with modded levers

and Galfer braided lines allround the bike.

The Galfer front lines are a bit different in that they don't use a crossover line betwenn the front callipers or the original T piece (one line spliiting in 2 at the lower tripple). They run a double banjo fitting from the master cylinder with an indapendant line to each caliper from the banjo on the master cylinder.

This worked very well on a track day and seriouly surprised some SM and R1 owners (disks were a bit blue at the end of the day though).

It will be very interesting to see how it will all go with the radial masters, the stock 6 pot Tokico calpiers, HH pads and the braided lines. I do know that it will overwhelm normal street tyres.
