Guys (and gals) I wanted to share my latest mods for my new B-12

1.) Homemade Lisc. plate bracket - Cut out of 11 ga. and rolled to wheel & chain radii then welded. Used them there Lite'N Boltz for illumination. Also machined some alum wireway blocks (where the old chain guard use to reside- never liked them things any ways) and used some water drip hose for the wire run.

2.) GSXR Steering stabilizer. Mounted using a small angle bracket located on the upper oil cooler mount. Body mounted to the blined tapped hole underd the lower triple tree. Only uses 3/4 of the original stroke, but linear movement is greatest when bars pointed straight (ie.. when you need it the most) - less linear movement when bars are cranked to the stops. I think it might just work- Hell, it was $10 on e-bay.

3) Intigrated tail light/turn signals [not shown]
4) Busa rear shock [not shown]

That plate is cool. I wonder if you'll get stopped for not having a clearly readable plate?

Yea, I was wondering the same thing. I tucked it inside the rim a bit too far. We will see, if it's a major problem, I'll make another one with less offset.

Did something similar with the plate. Just hung and arced it over the disc.

Cops give you any trouble with that plate yet? I see more and more of them. Got any more pics of your Bandit?

Everything looks cool, just be careful of that minimal chain guard/ license plate holder as the long original was engineered for a good reason. Make sure you don’t wear baggy long pants, loose fitting cuffed jeans and velcro lacing around the ankles are secure because you might feel yourself snatched off the back seat.

No problem with the cops. Had it on 6 months. I try not to bring attention to myself beyond the pipe. They have been behind me, but I think they have bigger fish to fry. And it is very readable. Colorado law simply states it must be visible from the rear and leaves it at that. I've seen waaaay worse around here.

I would not use the oil cooler mount for anything other than the cooler itself. No need to induce any unneeded loading at that point, you risk overstressing the the tabs that hold the cooler in place.

It would probably be better to either use a frame strap or drill/tap the frame for mounting the damper.
