Rearset compatability?
« on: February 22, 2007, 07:40:42 PM »
Hey all! Im looking into getting some adjustable rearsets for my '01 B12 (MUST be all black) and im not sure if there are any other models that are swappable. Will aftermarket gixxer or Busa rearsets fit?

Thanks!
Someday we'll look back on all this and plow into a parked car.

Holeshot has some rearsets that are black, but they aren't adjustable.

You could always use aftermarket pegs with the Holeshot setup. Wouldn't solve the need for stock gear or brake lever(s).

There's Gilles rearsets, available from Wild Hair Accessories. These are adjustable and available in black, as well as the gold in the pic below.

ValterMoto rearsets. Highly recommended for a full sport setup.  http://www.race-tech.com/

RaceTech carries them. Mine are the 1.5 models, 3 position adjustable and cost around $300. Add $80 for the heelguards, mine are GSXR as they work with the rearsets. You will also need a hydraulic pressure switch for the rear brake light. They come in 10x1.0 and 10x1.25.

I would not waste $200 on the HS set back plates, they are overpriced for what they are.

As soon as you do rearsets, you are gonna want to do something with the seat.

I bit the bullet and ordered the Gilles. rather spendy but i found a deal for 400 and they come in black to match my project.  And i already did something with the seat. I got the Gimbel fighter solo seat

Do you have some close-ups of your rearsets?

There she is. Not really wild about the CF heelguards, but they were the only black GSXR guards GP Tech had at the time.

The Gilles are probably the nicest rearsets offered for the B12. The problem is their cost. I find the ValterMoto units to be a nice alternative. They offer a fixed (non adj) model for $199, it is their 1.0 model.

I highly recommend GP Tech, I ordered my rearsets from Kneedraggers, they messed up my order and instead of dealing further with them, I found out who their supplier was, GPTech in this case, and went directly to them. They not only fixed Kneedragger's mistake, but also threw in the heelguards for free to cover the mistake made by Kneedraggers.
