I have an 04 Bandit 1200S with only 4500 mi.  Is it normal for the front tire to need replacing already?  If not, do warranties cover this? :taz:

That doesn't sound quite 'right', although I have no experience with the Mac 90's, and a lot of people have had STRANGE wear with the OEM macadams.
(Rippling, uneven wear, and worse......even screwing up handling.)

How does your rear tire look?

Generally, a front tire will slightly outlast the rear.......
The warranty won't cover tire wear.

Uh Pete not mine. I almost changed the front and left the rear (cause it still looked OK) thought the OEM were a good ride till I got to try someting new Z6. Conclusion IMO..... OEM MACs suck

The Mac 90s are notorious for cupping on the front tire. I recall mine starting to cup at about 5K miles. I finally replaced it at about 7500. Went through several sets of Bridgestone BT20s and BT10s. Liked the 10s best. Got about 9K on the front and 7K on the back from the last set.

Now have Metzler Roadtec Z6s. Have about 2K on them so far and and they still look practically new.

DITTO! Mac 90's suck. My stock front tire was cupped at 1500 miles.
