I never found a headlight kit that I 100% loved. So right now I just modified the front lights/stay/etc. I'm actually pretty happy with it. Next week a bunch of performance stuff is coming. Yay. Time to work on the engine and brakes.

Thanks for the compliment. I cut off four sections of metal (two posts and two tabs). Ground down the left over weld beads and then a little black spay paint. I also plugged all the open tubes with various stuff I had around my shop.

I still might fuss with the fairing bracket one more time to shorten the yoke (how far it projects out from the head tube). If I'm going to do this then I'm going to make a jig so that I don't screw up the headlight placement, etc.

Great to hear that you’re taking a welding class. Are you learning Stick, Mig, and Tig? I worked 5 years at a metal fab shop and this old guy that was there could weld iron with a gas torch. He was incredible. His welds look like a row of dimes lying staggered on top of each other.

Even if I don't end up using the skill much down the road, learning more about how to work with and use metal will be pretty valuable. ...that plasma cutter is a lot of fun, too

I got them off E-bay (I can't remember how much, I think $89.00) and they are from this Italian company called Mad Doctor's Creatures. Here is the link to their site:

The lights are really cool. You can set them in three positions using a tiny allen key. Nice and bright also.

It's only 299.00 Euros... the Europeans use a comma where we use a decimal, and a decimal where we use a comma.

The rate at this moment is:
1 EUR = $1.26342 US $1 US = 0.791499 EUR
So, 299.00 EUR = $377.64 US

Certainly cool! I think I'm still going to work for a cowl-less look. I'm guessing that it should only cost me a few $$ in materials, as a bonus. After riding around with nothing on the front end, however, I was starting to re-consider. Even the smallest bit of a screen up there makes a huge difference in wind protection! But, the bandit is going to be my burn-out bike, so no need for long distance comfort ;)

...I've really been dragging my feet on getting this finished! Hopefully I'll be able to get everything put together this weekend.
