Hey Guys
I purchased a 2000 B12 a couple of weeks ago after reading the reviews and post on this site, I am not suprised that I have had the most fun I've had in a while.
Been out of the saddle for over three years now and am enjoying the beautiful weather here in Central Florida.
Now that the grin has frozen on my face I have to think about the future.
I want to protect my ride and was wondering if any of you guys have any experience or heard anything on these protectors. I've heard of the Suzuki issues with welds so I was researching other products.

Considering they are showing them on a black engine, I'd say yes!

Only the 1200 and the spanking new 650 have black engines.
(They do list them for the 1200 - with a different p/n - here.)

Personally, I wouldn't want my crash protectors mounted on the cylinder head, I think their frame mounted ones would be a better choice... and you could even use them as highway pegs on longer rides.

Note that their prices include the UK's 17.5% VAT, so non-UK/Euro residents wouldn't pay that, which makes them a bit cheaper for Yanks.

How would that work for your buying power? no vat which is cripling (17.5%).

But you got to love them. nice and shiney. might get the frame one's they just look cool.

For the stuff I've ordered from the old countries, the savings in VAT usually covers the shipping for getting the stuff to the New World.

I thing the weld issue on suzuki guards is a bunch of bologna. I've had 2 sets of them, on two different bikes, and no problems at all. Plus they give you great protection (don't ask me how I know).

I think PeteSC will disagree with you here, Dave... especially after his Suzuki case guard broke the cover it was designed to protect.

I'm happy that they've worked well for you, but you and I have both been around the Bandit boards long enough to have read more than one report of failed welds on the Suzuki Accessory pieces. I know it was those threads that encouraged me to go with NRC covers

Sorry, Dave. I've had two sets of the Suzuki guards on my '99. One side of the first set broke a weld after a year and a half or so. I replaced them with a new set.
(I talked to a SUZ employeel at the race track who works in the ACCESS department, and he admitted they had a problem with the guards.)
The second set stayed on my bike until I had a 20 mph crash, and the case guard folded up into the side cover, puncturing it.
They do work fine in parking lot tipovers, and stuff like that.

I've got NRC covers and frame sliders, now, and hope I don't have to 'test' them!!
