hi there

iam streetfightering a 98 b6 does a b12 swinging arm and rear wheel fit in to a b6 frame ?

i think its a direct bolt in... if not, its an easy mod.. there are a couple of people running the b12 swing arm...

only downside is the wider tire on the b12 will slow down your turn in.. but if you just going for looks, go for it. Otherwise i think the stock set up is plenty for the 6

Are you just after a wide tire?  I have a 160/60/17 on the rear of mine and it fills things out well.  There is still room so you should be able to fit a 170.  Just a thought before you throw a bunch of time & money in there.

Hi

thanks for the replys iam already running a 160/60/17 on the rear, i do loads of motorway/highspeed riding and i had a go on a friends b12 just the 180 tyre feels a little better cornering at higher speeds than the 160 also better traction i found probly just me thinkin it but just felt better prob slow down the turn rate a little but iam gona speak to a friend and see if i can borrow a swing arm/rear wheel

I am running a 170x60 avo in my standard swingarm and i still have 10mm each side to play with. I have jacked up the back and dropped the front end by 10mm, the stearing feels nice and quick, handles like a dream.  :bigok:

johno, how did you drop the front? I'm going for a wider rear tire myself on my b6, and im thinking about 170/50 or 60 ..

Hello m8, i loosened the fork retaining bolts one side at a time and slid the forks up through the headset. measure from the top of the fork down to the headset. I slid the forks up 10 mm, be carfull not to loosen the bolts too much because the forks will slide up through very quickly. I hope this is of some help,GOOD LUCK. regards johno

Remember the 180 likes a 5.50"+ wide rim or the mid tire will wear faster unless the psi is run lower!!!!  :bigok:

1200 swing arm

Youll need the 1200 swing arm,torque arm,chain guard & rear wheel spindle.If you want to keep the wheel spindle,youll need a spacer made up approx 13mm dep to make up for the longer 600 spindle.If you fit the 1200 wheel,youll also need the caliper hanger as well.I kept the 600 wheel as i had a brand new 160/60zr17 014 on it and had also just polished it!Also fitted the 1200 shock as well,but with a 55 mm jack up on it.
