Metal piece on bottom of the seat
« on: May 22, 2006, 12:56:18 AM »
I'm looking for the metal piece on the bottom of the seat that helps lock the seat to the bike. I have an extra stock seat that I would like to be able to install when my wife want to ride with me. But, the metal piece that fits into the locking mechanism was removed and installed on the Corbin seat currently on the bike. I'm told by Suzuki that I can't get this piece by itself (its not on their list of parts). That is almost impossible to believe. Do I have to have one of these fabricated? Thanks. Perry

I have the same problem.  So far, looks like you have to buy the whole seat.  :duh:

Yep, I had the same problem.

So, I bought an old seat, completely wrecked, but with a good "metal part".

So, try a motorcycle junkyard.

I'm told the Suzuki part number is 45220-20A01 and costs about $40.00

That's the seat latch attached to the bike.  He needs the striker plate, which does appear on the schematics for the 1st Gen Bandits, but not for the 2nd Gen.

Ron Ayers couldn't find a part number for it for me, either.  They're stumped.  It comes attached to the seat.  You get it only if you buy the whole seat assembly.

P!sses me off, too!
