You can check E-bay....I am going to be selling mine soon though.  If you have a Gen one Bandit they will fit.

Gotta admit I have never been able to figure out what is meant by a GEN1 and GEN2.

My bike is an 03 Naked. If either of you would like to sell yours, and providing they fit, I would be glad to take you up on that.

Let me know.

My intenetion is to give my girlfriend something to hold onto instead of me. I was looking at JustBandits and they seem to have something that might work but its hard to tell from their picture.

Thanks,

Gen 1 is up to 1999 bandit 1200 and 2000 Bandit 600.  Gen 2 is 2000 and above bandit 1200 and 2001 and above bandit 600.  If it has an "S" after the number it has from cowling....

No worries took me a little while to figure that one out too.  Especially when I learned that they were actually two different animals all together.  You can't swap parts between the two, I might be wrong, but I think you can swap engine only parts, but again I might be wrong.

Actually I have a 2000 B1200 and it is a 1st gen. Bandit. 2001 was the start of the 2nd. gen B1200.

Well then clearly I have a..... 2nd Generation Bandit.

Again, it looks like what JustBandits.com has would/might work. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicion?

Thanks,

Asphalt got the breakdown wrong. Seems he confused the 600 with the 1200 - and left off the newest additions...

Gen 1 is 1999 & earlier Bandit 600 and 2000 & earlier Bandit 1200.
Gen 2 is 2001-2005 Bandit 1200 and 2000-2004 Bandit 600.
Gen 3 is 2006 Bandit 1200 and 2005-2006 Bandit 650. (Gen 3's were not available in the USA.)
Gen 4 is the 2007 650 & 1250 watercooled Bandits. (These are essentially Gen 3's with new engines.)

what color is your bike. someone on here prolly has one laying around. I wouldn't rely on a grab rail to hold my girlfriend on. The best it would do is maybe stop her from sliding off all the way under acceleration. The best is if she holds on to you and leans into you a bit when braking. I have my girlfriend keep one hand on the tank when braking to lighten the load on my wrists. I have had the grab rails before on previous bikes and it seems like the passanger isn't as in tune with you and tends to squirm around a lot more too. I have ridden bitch on a bike that had the rails and I didn't feel safe just holding on to them....so i gave my buddy a hug...its ok, i am comfortable in my sexuality

Maybe the solution would be a better seat? What do you think about the one JustBandits.com has. What I really want is to stop her from sliding into me so much. I get the feeling that the stock seat only promotes this. I was hoping grab rails would help keep her situated.

Just as clarification I am looking for grab rails that will go down the side, not just the one on the back. Again, JustBandits.com seems to have one.

The Corbin Gunfighter & Lady seat with the optional backrest will keep your passengers from flying of the back when you get enthusiastic with the right wrist.

On the Justbandits site, the only grab rail I saw was for a 1G. Did I miss the 2G one?

One option for 2G grab rails would be to get a luggage rack that mounts to the 4 bungee spool locations. This would provide bars down the sides for the passenger to use... but they might fit a little too close to the bodywork to really be effective in that regard.

I have the Corbin seat with the backrest (and my wife LOVES it) and a luggage rack from Ventura. I don't think the wife has ever used the rack mount as a hand hold though.

Paul:

I was unsure about the JustBandits grab rails so thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't tell by the description or the picture whether it fit the GEN2.

The Gunfighter Lady was certainly something I was considering but I'm a little ah-scared by they price tag. Also, it looks like the JustBandits seat has a little more of a scoop to it for the passenger. I was thinking maybe the JustBandits seat with the Holeshot backrest/luggage rack. But by that time I think i am paying about the same amount of money.

Just did a quick seach of ebay and came up with a guy selling a 2G Corbin seat (needs some sewing or a recover) with a current bid of $38 (and a day left on the auction).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corbin-Seat-for-2nd-Gen-Suzuki-Bandit-1200_W0QQitemZ300064705937QQihZ020QQcategoryZ35589QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Same guy is also auctioning off the backrest for the seat separately (currently at $38.55):

If this one doesn't suit you, keep trolling. They pop up frequently.
