Had some issues with a ladder in my garage last week,   so I decided to cover up the repair with some new paint......  I've got a spray booth in my garage,  and have been itching to try out the new Dupont "hot hues" line of Candy concentrates.........  Looks pretty good  methinks ........

Thanks !!        I had zero intentions of changing the stock paint,  but I couldn't get the repair to completely "melt" into the existing paint,  so I thought,  let's try another approach..........  I don't know if I'll add some gold to anything else or not......... Maybe this is enough,       but I could change my thoughts on that !       Cheers !!               Les

Hi H,             oh man,  do you have any idea how many times I've been asked that ????    It is an attention getter , that's for sure !    I picked it up a couple of years ago from an ex-bandit rider in Toronto, who had stripped all the aftermarket goodies from his B12 before selling it.  He saw a post of mine, and noted my ride, and contacted me about the cooler, which had been collecting dust in his garage.  It was missing oil lines and banjoes , so I had to fab some things up to make it work, not to mention, modifying my steering stops.   I had just finished some engine work ( 11:1 J&E pistons, megacycle intake cam, gixxer exhaust cam, milled and ported the head)   and had noticed an increase in my bike's operating temps, especially in town and traffic........ seemed like a good fit .......  He bought it a few years back from Plot Racing in Japan.  He said that he had paid about $1000 Canadian for it .....  I picked it up for a lot less !  Bike runs a lot cooler now,  and I also added the top end oiler from a Bandito in Texas to keep those cams happy  !  Cheers !!          Les

Never mind the radiator, where'd you get those upper engine guards????

Hey Stevie B,         those are actually the aluminum billet blocks that make up the top end oiler...... They're made by "Carolina Cycle" ...   I picked them up from a Bandit rider in Texas .  The stainless lines pick up oil from the valve cover, and direct oil to the camshafts.         Cheers !        Les

Lookin' GOOD!     The old Brit racing colors.  Did you prime it first or just wetsand and shoot?  I'm thinking about a two-tone scheme in the spring.

thanks guys...........    I did the repair on the ding first,  primed the area of repair, then scuffed the entire tank,  painted the gold and candy,  then clearcoated the entire tank.......       I always loved the way gold and green go together !                This bike is actually for sale right now,  with all the goodies, a spare tank, Haynes service manual, and the stock seat.......             Cheers !                 Les
